ABOUT Ed Funke

Ed Funke worked in bowling alleys as a bowling technician since he was a teen.  In 1989  he was chosen by Brunswick to attend the first ever GS Pinsetter School.

After years of trying different methods to eliminate the common issue of unreturned balls to the bowlers due to bowling pins piling up in the ball door corner of the transport band, Ed's concept of Funke Bumper was realized from a prototype he made in his garage in 2019, and installed in the lanes at the bowling center where he still works today.
